She was predeceased by her husband, William Franklin Fancher; one grandson, Joseph “B.J.” Fancher; one brother, James O. Akers; and four sisters, Nellie Marie Akers, Sylvia Akers, Dylvia Akers, and Blondie Angel. Mrs. Fancher was a member of Church of God of Prophecy of Ramseur, NC and she was a home maker. She married her high school sweetheart, James David Thorsen in 1958 and they became the proud parents of her three sons, James Jr., Randall Scott and Gregory Paul. After Jim's passing she moved to Macon, GA and to Bossier City, LA where she married Benny Akers. Janet found an interest in interior designing and sewing. Janet designed the home for her and her husband Richard where they resided together over the past 28 years. RV travel shows were some of her favorites as she neared her end while fighting MS that took hold of her many years ago. She met and fell in love with Richard Akers and spent the remainder of her life with him.
